Fisher Phillips, a premier international labor and employment law firm, is seeking a Manager of Attorney Integration to join our team. This key role is responsible for ensuring a smooth and effective transition for all new attorney hires, helping them successfully integrate into the Firm.

The Manager of Attorney Integration will work collaboratively with firm leadership, office leaders, the business development team, and other professional departments involved in onboarding and integration. The Manager will also coordinate with key stakeholders to address the specific needs of lateral hires and individual offices, ensuring a personalized and comprehensive onboarding experience.

This position is responsible for delivering ongoing programming designed to familiarize new attorneys with the Firm’s policies, procedures, and infrastructure. Additionally, it provides continuous support to new hires to help ensure their successful integration and long-term success within the Firm. The role requires exceptional interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, as it involves cross-departmental coordination and the development of strong relationships with both key stakeholders and new attorneys.

Key Responsibilities

Onboarding Coordination

  • Create a centralized and consistent on-boarding process.
  • Ensure appropriate orientation sessions are specifically tailored for new hires and are scheduled; continually innovate and adopt best practices to improve orientation programs.
  • Establish a mutual understanding of roles, responsibilities, and timelines; Process should include perspectives and input from all relevant departments.
  • Define success. Understand from recruiting/RMP/PG leader the business reason(s) and success metrics for the new hire so they can be properly monitored.
  • Communicate frequently internally. Communicate with key stakeholders to ensure all relevant parties have the necessary information so that all tools, resources, and information are ready for new hire’s first day.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for new hire to go to for any and all needs.

Client Relationship Management

  • Client Transition Support: Closely collaborate with the Administration, New Business Intake, and Business Development & Marketing teams, to assist new attorneys in transferring and managing client relationships, to ensure a smooth transition that maximizes the firm’s revenue streams.

Performance Monitoring and Feedback

  • Support Program: Identify, create, and implement program(s) to engage office leaders, practice group leaders, and other key parties responsible for new hire’s recruitment to provide support to them. This program would be responsible for identifying partners who can provide the new hire with guidance, support, and insight into the Firm’s culture and practices.
  • Regular Check-Ins: Conduct regular check-ins with new hires during their first year to assess their integration progress and help address any concerns.
  • Progress Reports: Prepare regular reports for firm leadership on the progress of new hires, including their productivity, client engagement, and overall satisfaction.
  • New Hire Feedback Process: Improve and facilitate the new hire feedback program.
  • New Associate Training: Improve and facilitate new associate training programs.

Firmwide Relationship Building

  • Organize networking events, lunch meetings, mentoring/buddy programs, and professional development programs to accelerate lateral hire integration.
  • Develop strategies to ensure lateral hires are actively engaging with colleagues across the Firm.

Retention & Engagement Strategies

  • Monitor integration trends and identify common challenges lateral hires face and develop and propose solutions to enhance retention.

Collaboration with Key Stakeholders

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure smooth communications and understandings, and to minimize inefficiencies.

Market Research & Best Practices

  • Monitor industry trends and provide insights on best practices related to lateral hiring and integration that will improve the firm’s competitive position in the legal market
  • Benchmark the firm’s integration process against other firms to identify areas for enhancement.

Process Improvement

  • Assess and make recommendations to improve the onboarding and integration processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; JD preferred.
  • Experience working in a law firm in attorney integration, attorney professional development, talent management, or law firm administration preferred.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to foster strong relationships across all levels of the firm.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating with firm leadership and support teams.
  • Display excellent judgment and ability to maintain confidential information and discretion.

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $130,000 - $155,000. Actual base pay within this range will be determined by several components, including but not limited to, location, relevant experience, internal equity, skills, qualifications, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
