Location: Hybrid (Candidates must reside near one of our locations). This role offers the flexibility to work remote and in a hybrid arrangement, with the option to work from a Fisher Phillips office two to three days per week, if desired.

This role is at the center of our national recruiting efforts, from OCI and diversity outreach to the summer associate program, working directly with firm leadership, attorneys, and law schools. The Details:

The Attorney Recruiting Specialist (Law Student Recruiting) supports full cycle recruiting and onboarding for law students and entry-level attorneys across the firm’s U.S. offices. In this role, you will collaborate with a national team of recruiting professionals and report to the Attorney Recruiting Manager. The Specialist collaborates closely with the Director, Managers, Regional Managing Partners, hiring partners, attorneys, and law schools, and contributes to national initiatives such as OCI, diversity outreach, and the summer program.


Key Responsibilities

Law Student Recruiting

  • Supports the firm’s national law student recruitment process and annual timeline across all U.S. offices, including documenting processes, policies, and best practices.
  • Plans and coordinates interviewer training and develops interviewer materials for all U.S. offices.
  • Partners with the Attorney Recruiting Director and Managers on OCI strategy, design, and implementation, including self-apply and other application methods.
  • Coordinates on-campus recruiting, collaborates with selected schools, arranges interviews, manages callback scheduling, and handles attorney travel logistics.
  • Drafts and delivers offer materials to candidates and completes all due diligence required to finalize offers.
    • Assists with social media marketing efforts and event planning related to law student recruiting.
    • Builds and maintain relationships with law school career services offices, faculty, and student organizations.
    • Develops and executes outreach strategies for 1L and diversity recruitment initiatives.
  • Drafts recruitment materials and a communications plan, tracks and corresponds with students and law school organizations, and drafts internal communications regarding events, on-campus activities, and summer program information.

Summer Associate Program

  • Assist with design planning, coordination, and execution of the firmwide summer program, including orientation, training, social events, and evaluations.
  • Participate in the planning of social events, internal and external communications, tracking summer associate work through our Work Allocation software, and assisting with orientation schedules and onboarding efforts.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and office leadership to assign projects and ensure productive feedback loops.

Data Management and Reporting

  • Maintain accurate recruiting data in applicant tracking systems (ATS) and other relevant platforms.
  • Assist with regular reports on recruiting metrics, trends, and outcomes for internal stakeholders.
  • Assist in budget tracking for recruiting activities and events.
  • Ensures ATS system, onboarding, and other technology platforms are running efficiently. Supports the management and implementation of technology and provides training to other team members.
  • Ensures efficient maintenance and production of student recruiting data. Provides regular and ad hoc reports, PowerPoint presentations, analysis, and statistics.
  • Oversees updates to the Career Opportunities website; updates and maintains the internal recruiting intranet sites and document management system.
  • Supports the creation and completion of surveys and form filings related to student recruitment.

Event Coordination

  • Organize and attend (as needed) recruiting events such as career fairs, diversity events, and networking sessions.
  • Represent the firm professionally while promoting its values and opportunities.
  • Work closely with marketing and branding teams to create materials and presentations that align with the firm’s vision.
  • Maintains strong relationships with external vendors and collaborates on key objectives, initiatives, and outcomes.
  • Conducts school outreach and sponsorship opportunities to increase the firm's visibility on-campus and build student connections. Supports the planning and execution of on-campus events and student organization partnerships during the academic year. Works with career services and sponsored organizations to maximize firm participation in on-campus activities and assesses outcomes.

Collaboration and Communication

  • Partner with recruiting managers, attorneys, and firm leadership to align recruiting strategies with firm objectives.
  • Communicate regularly with candidates, providing guidance and updates throughout the hiring process.
  • Function as a resource for law students and associates, addressing questions and facilitating smooth transitions.
  • Collaborates with social media and communications teams on external messaging and branding to attract student applicants and increase the firm’s social media presence.
  • Monitor industry trends and implement process improvements.
  • Support firm diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Must have three or more years of attorney or law school recruiting experience in a law firm environment.
  • Strong knowledge of OCI and law student recruiting processes.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
  • Professional, client service–oriented, and extremely responsive to attorneys, staff, and candidates, while maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and adapt to shifting priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; familiarity with iManage and viRecruit/viGlobal preferred.
  • Must enjoy utilizing new technologies to increase efficiencies.
  • Has a desire to grow under leaders willing to mentor and support career development.

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $70,000 - $88,000. Actual base pay within this range will be determined by several components, including but not limited to, location, relevant experience, internal equity, skills, qualifications, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
